- The web is for connecting and doing stuff.
- It's for sharing genuine expression and useful content.
- This is your life. You don't have to suck.
If you don't get it, get out of the way and stop ruining it.
BTW: If I had to name one shining example of a designer getting everything right, in the face of adversity, it would be Maya Lin and the Memorial Wall. However, when it comes to the web, realizing good design requires a lot more than a clear vision, a strong will, and non-disruptive compromise:
